How to use the site
At Midlands Fancy Dress we have tried to make our site as easy to use as possible so that whether you’re looking for a full outfit or just accessories to accompany an outfit you already have, you can find a range of items that fill your needs quickly.
We Pride ourselves on the choice of products we have on the site but realise this can make choosing difficult! The easiest way around this is to add every item you like into your basket as you browse, using the 'back' button on your browser to return to the page you were looking at. When you're finished browsing return to 'My Cart' where you can look through all your options & delete any you've ruled out!
As well as a search facility we have arranged our site into two ‘Browse’ options: ‘Categories’ and ‘Themes’.
Themes
In the centre of the home page and at the bottom of every page on this site you will find lists of themes. This is an ideal browse option if you have been invited to a party with a specific theme. Once you have clicked on a theme you will be shown all the categories of items available within that theme, e.g. ‘Men’s Costumes’, ‘Wigs’ and ‘Themed Decorations’. There is also a ‘View all…’ option to allow you to browse through all products in a given theme so you can get a feel for what, for example, a Seventies costume could include and inspire you with accessories to give your costume an individual look.
Categories
Down the left hand side of any page of the Midlands Fancy Dress website you will find the ‘Categories’ list. Perfect for when you are invited to a fancy dress party without a theme and just want to browse through items, here all the products are divided into categories such as ‘Men’s Costumes’, ‘Women’s Costumes’ etc. These categories are also useful when searching for an accessory to go with a costume, for example it can be used to browse through our range of tights or shoes once you have picked a costume.
In the list of categories, along with ‘Themed Decorations’ you will also find the ‘Birthday Decorations’ and ‘Occasions Decorations’ options. These are ranges of decorations and balloons for special occasions such as birthdays, new babies, Anniversaries etc, as well as generic decorations such as latex balloons and table cloths.
At the bottom of the Categories is where are ‘Sale’ products are located. This category brings together all of the discounted products on the site, however, these products can also be found in other categories and themes and are not separated from the main catalogue. Items found in the sale are usually items that our suppliers are offering to us at a discounted rate and we have passed the savings on. They may also be items for which we have overstocked and need to clear. Sale items will not be seconds or damaged in anyway unless it is clearly stated in the description.
Midlands Fancy Dress’s main concern is making the online shopping experience as easy for you as if you were in a shop with a sales assistant helping you. Whether you’re looking for a certain item or have no idea where to start, Midlands Fancy Dress hopes you will leave the site with a head full of ideas and a virtual shopping basket full of goodies!
